SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental, Scheffau
WST2016. For the second time in history from 24th till 27th of March, 2015 bigest interconected Austrian winter resort SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental (Scheffau) in Tirol hosted the annual World Skitest - a ski test of the models for next winter season 2015/2016.
Many famous testers came to Scheffau to perform the testing
Numerous international, actual and former athletes such as Max Franz, Bernadettte Schild, Cornelia Hütter, Reinfried Herbst, Vincent Kriechmayr, Thomas Krautschneider, the newly crowned SkiCross World Champion Andrea Limbacher, Vice World champion Dominic Paris, Olympic champion and three-times World Champion Stephan Eberharter, double Olympic gold medalist and World Champion Petra Kronberger, double World Champion Michael von Grüningen, Olympic Champion Fritz Strobl, Paralympics 2x silver Medalist Matthias Lanzinger, Olympic champion and World Champion Andreas Linger , former top athletes such as Ingrid Salvenmoser, Daniel Mahrer, Mitja Valencic and Christian Mayer, the two-times deep powder snow World Champion Daniela Schuster , the Freerideskiers Birgit Ertl and Tine Huber, numerous amateur skiers, and numerous national and international journalists including the one of the owners and Head Editors of Bulgarian professional media for ski and board sport WWW.SKI.BG and SKI&BOARD active sport magazine.
The WST is performed as a blind test
All skis are tapped with black foil and equipped with a rental binding - so that no tester knows what brand he is testing. The test is performed on a sealed-off area on the Test Track - the so-called changing station - the bindings are exclusively adjusted from a neutral WorldSkitest service team. Each ski is tested only once. After each trip, -on a closed track specially for WST testers - an evaluation form has to be filled out, the following criteria are rated on a scale between 1 and 10: Long turn, short turn, edge grip, maneuverability and general effort. From all test sheets, an average is calculated which results to the final rating at the end of the test.
Due to the black tapped skis, the selected and eclectic mix of testers with different skills, requirements and the great variety of ski models the WorldSkitest is very meaningful.

The Test itself:
Approx. 250 tester, a mixed potpourri of celebrities, professionals, amateur skiers, journalists tested 200 pair of skis for the next winter season.

in a specially fenced off area.
Mode of testing: The ski testers pass the first test drive and immediately after the test they fill out the score sheet for the just driven model. Thereafter the skis are changed, next test drive is performed and rating.

In this category different models get tested. Skis that are not in the common categories will be tested in the Open Space category.
No matter which characteristics the ski is promising, f. ex. an extra wide waist for highest possible skiing comfort, an exclusive model at a very high price or a new ski binding/shoe system... –in this category you will find latest research and technology to present our readers the industry´s latest trends and innovations. As it is not possible to compare the models in this category the skis also stay branded.
SnowStyle - the Design Contest
The category SnowStyle is rating skis based on their unique design. Why? That is rather simple. Since not too long ago skis not only tend to be masterpieces of development and handling characteristics, they are also unique regarding their design. And today, more and more skiers are choosing their skis due to a special design, which has to match their personal life style.
So all our testers have the possibility to choose their favourite skis and we sum it up and find the WorldSkitest winners.
FashionShow 2015
The WorldSkitest FashionShow was one of the Highlights of the WorldSkitest 2015 at the SkiWorld Wilder Kaiser-Brixental. WST fashion partners - MountainForce, Ziener, uvex, Komperdell, EA7 Giorgio Armani - presented the Must Have's of the comng winter season.
