WORLD SNOW DAY. he ninth edition of World Snow Day was a massive success on the 19th January 2020 with 359 events in 45 countries.

FIS President Gian Franco Kasper remarked, “it is humbling to see so many stakeholders come together to bring the next generation to snow sports. My congratulations to all those who participated, this was a very good edition of the event.”

In many parts of the globe, this year’s World Snow Day Organisers battled through tough conditions to stage an excellent series of events. The many the stand outs included:

In total Of the 363 registered World Snow Days events only fourhad to be cancelled due to the conditions. Considering the tough snow conditions in many parts of the world, this shows the dedication of the Organisers to stage World Snow Day events and give many youngsters the opportunity to experience and enjoy snow sports.

World Snow Day also created a buzz in the digital world. #worldsnowday” was shared by over 5000 users and thanks to media partners Eurosport, Infront Sports and Media and the European Broadcasting Union, the World Snow Day trailer was broadcast around the world.

Moreover, two winners claimed family sets of skis in the #atomicsnowday competition and another lucky family won two Dinoski kids ski suits. FIS would like to thank all the partners for their active support and involvement this year’s event.

Looking ahead to 2021, the 10th anniversary edition of World Snow Day will take place on the 17th January 2021.
