ALPINE SKIING. Daniel Albrecht became acquainted again with the Kitzbüheler Streif for the first time since his horrendous crash on 22 January 2009.
On the way to a media event of his ski equipment provider Albrecht stopped in Kitzbühel. "I took a look at the slope a bit. I stayed very calm, I had no bad feelings or fear when I looked at the piste, "said Albrecht.
Albrecht already went to a press conference in Kitzbuehel last January in the course of the Hahnenkamm race. At that time however he did go to see the piste. He saved that step up for now. It has however been left undecided when Albrecht will return to the World Cup. "I'm going back again. I know that I will come back but I do not know when this will be the case."
In 2009, the now 27-year-old Albert crashed badly at the final jump in the downhill training when going 140 km / h. He had suffered a traumatic brain injury, also a brain hemorrhage and a pulmonary contusion. For almost three weeks, he was put into an artificial coma.
