. световни ски новини : Swedish alpine ski teams back on snow - 02 Август 2011 - 17:46

The Swedish Alpine teams are back on snow. The men's team has been training in Mölltal (AUT) since Friday and the women will be travelling to Saas Fee (SUI) on Tuesday, 2nd August.

Anja Pärson training in Saas-Fee (SUI) - looking good Anja!! :-)

"It feels good to get going again," says the men's coach Magnus Larsson.

The Swedish men actually planned to train in Juvasshytta in Norway but the snow there was rained away and hence the team chose Austrian as destination. And training in Mölltal has been good to start with.

"It is going to be cold and sunny now. On Sunday already the base was good. We trained both slalom and giant slalom and the boys are feeling outstanding," says  Larsson.

The speed team arrived in Mölltal on Monday with the exception of Patrik Järbyn who is training with the Team USA for now.

"On the slalom side we are working on various technical things in order to further improve our skiing and to ski faster. All are skiing very compact and now it is time to work on the individual details. The guys are very motivated. I think we were well prepared last year but this year I have to say it is looking even better.  This was also the first year that our conditioning coach Oscar Larsson had a chance to work continously with the team all spring and summer long," added Larsson.

The Swedish ladies team is starting its first snow camp from Tuesday in Saas Fee where the World Cup, European Cup and even some junior girls are going to be training.

"We are looking forward to being on snow finally. All the girls are well prepared and we plan to have ten on-snow days now," says new ladies' coach Fredrik Steinwall.
All the girls have a good summer conditioning training period behind them and are extremely motivated to continue on snow.

"We are truly well motivated and the team is excited to get going for real. This is also the premiere with the entire team with the new coaches Pavli Cebulj, Pierre Olsson and our new conditioning coach Robert Nilsson, which is exciting," notes Steinwall.
