The Film Festival is widely considered to be one of the outdoor scene’s most prestigious meetings, giving visitors a glimpse into the world of daring expeditions and extraordinary tours. The slogan, „Mountains, People, Adventure“ quite simply says it all: Free riding, climbing, bouldering, extreme skiing, kayaking and paragliding – visitors to the ARLBERG-well.com Conference Centre in St. Anton am Arlberg can look forward to fascinating imagery, emotion, drama and films from around the world. This year’s travel itinerary includes Iran, Wales, Greenland, the USA and Switzerland. Not forgetting, of course, the Tyrol and Vorarlberg regions as well as the Himalayas.

Focal Point Himalayas
Mountaineering in the Himalayas is a focal theme throughout this event. Ralf Dujmovits will be presenting his photographs from all 14 eight thousand metre peaks at the Film Festival Exhibition. Using a hypoxia gondola, Gerrit Glomser will demonstrate just what it means to climb mountains where the air is thin.

Live Talks with Stars of the Scene
What type of person forces themselves up an eight thousand metre mountain, dangling unsecured by one finger over a steep rock face, or dares to take on the challenge of spectacular white water expeditions by canoe? What is it that drives them time and again? What preparations are involved? These questions and more will be answered at the Film Festival by the climbing elite, mountain film enthusiasts and international film makers during live talks. Inspiring personalities will be discussing their experiences and adventures as well providing commentary on their films. Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner and her husband Ralf Dujmovits, Mount Everest legend Peter Habeler, world class climber Roger Schäli, Anderl Mannhardt, who made the first winter ascent of the Eiger North Face and the very first ascent of the Diamir face of Nanga Parbat, as well as top British climber, Dave MacLeod have all confirmed their attendance.
