Nearly 3000 sqm in top Bulgarian ski resort for skiers and summer tubers
INDUSTRY. In September 2012, the biggest summer dry slope area in Eastern Europe was built in Bansko, Bulgaria. The skiing area of Bansko is located in the south of Bulgaria, near the Greek boarder and it´s in a beautiful nature reserve which is up to 2500 m. On just about 3000 sqm area, Skiers and Snowboarders can start having Skiing Fun already in the summer months just next to the middle station - on artificial snow surface.
Besides of the tourists, the main users of this Area will be the regional Skiing clubs. People can decide whether they take a gondola ride up to the mountain or drive with their own cars. They can start immediately with slalom training. Another perfect service is the Ski & ski boot rental for Adults and Kids. The operators of the Skiing areas Ulån AG are providing more than 5000 Skis and Snowboards. With a conveyor belt the People will get to the Start, and here it goes: 100 m length and 30 m wide is enough space to practice a lot different alpine disciplines in the summer times such as Slopestyle with different obstacles and Big Air bag, Skier cross with an own start garte and of course Skiing and Snowboarding.
Right next to the Ski resort, an attractive, 100m long Tubing track with 3 curves was built, too. These curves were created after the construction plans from Skitrax with wood of the Mountain railways and were made by craftsmen in a very short time. In addition to the fast PE made Skitrax SP and HDPE tubes, different distances to start will be provided; they will reduce or increase the speed depending on which weight you start.
The summer season will be from May to September. In October, the flexible built facility is going to be completely uninstalled and stored in modules. The different Skitrax modules will be in the entrance and exit areas of the 9 Ski lifts. This multifunctional usage is affordable and creates a perfect usage of the Skitrax both in winter and summer. The grand opening ceremony for the whole area will take place in May/June 2013.
