Bright sun, lots of snow, perfect slopes, ski stars and latest skis created for the next season by world's top producers. World Skitest 2013/2014 - ski test of the models for season 2013/2014 - this year include many current and former stars from the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, Olympic champions and experienced amateurs, which thoroughly tested ski models for the next season.
Skis, separated into different categories, was tested and rated by over 200 professionals and advanced amateur skiers forming all together a wide variety of "skiing abilities" with one ultimate goal - to provide the users of World Skitest the most accurate information on each tested model and finally let them make the right choice when buying their new ski equipment.
The host of the World Ski Test 2013/2014 - from 19th till 22nd of March, 2013 - was a ski area of Bad Kleinkirchheim - St. Oswald in the Austrian federal state of Carinthia. This is where career began of the outstanding Olympic legend Franz Klammer, who, as is well known, is the director of the World Skitest.
This year among the more than 200 participants in the renowned ski test was notable names of the athletes of the Austrian Ski Team - Stefan Georgl and Rommed Baumann, former ski racers as a world-class Olympic champion Fritz Strobl, Stefan Eberharter, Michaela Gerg-Leitner, Josef (Pepi) Strobl, athlete from the Austrian toboggan team - the double Olympic champion Andreas Linger, and many others.
Besides them in Bad Kleinkirchheim arrived quite some foreign ski stars like: Olympic champion Victoria Rebensburg of Germany, World Champion Christoph Innerhofer from Italy, Alpine Ski World Cup skier Dominique Gisin from Switzerland, Slovenian stars Jure Koshir, Rene Mlekuc and Boyan Krizhaj (son) and much more.
Testing team was supplemented by many interesting people from Austrian economy and tourism industry, plus numerous representatives of national and international media and partners of the ski test.
Test categories this year were as follows: Men Race Slalom, Men Race Giant Slalom, Men Allround, Ladies High Performance, Ladies Allround, AllMountain, TwinTip, Youth Giant Slalom and the category for innovations and new technologies - Open Space.
One of the highlights at the World Ski Test is the fashion show. This year top class fashion brands from all over the world presented their models for next season's at the poduim in big restaurant hall of the hotel village Feriendorf Kirchleitn in St. Oswald, which was the headquarters for this year's ski test.
After the conclusion of this years' edition of the World ski test, especially for viewers and readers of WWW.SKI.BG and SKI&BOARD magazine, organizer of the World Skitest Mr. Gerhard Brueggler revealed that besides brand new category "Men Race Giant Slalom" the organizers of the World Ski Test consider including a Freeride ski test:
"For the next edition of the World Skitest we want to continue with all test categories, and the category giant slalom, which was new for this season, and also considering the inclusion of a Freeride ski test, which will probably happen next year or two - we will make World Skitest Freeride Test! " - said Gerhard Brueggler in front of SKI.BG TV camera.
Full results from the World Skitest 2013/2014 - World Ski Test 2013/2014 - will be published at the beginning of the winter season 2013/2014.
