CROSS-COUNTRY SKI. Switzerland's Dario Cologna put a race bib on for the first time this season at the Alpen Cup competitions this past weekend in Chamonix (FRA). Over three day's of competition, which began with a sprint event on Friday, Cologna progressed each day towards the podium and arrived there on Sunday in the 20 km Skiathlon.
After a 10th place finish in Friday's free technique sprint competition, Cologna followed that up with a 4th place finish in the 15 km classic event, and finally on Sunday was back on the podium just six seconds off the leading time of Mathia Wibault of France who won in a time of 43:20.5.
