SKI INDUSTRY. VIST announces its sponsorship of the Russian Alpine Ski and Snowboard Federation (RASSF) up to the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang (South Korea) to be held in 2018.

During a press conference held on 15 October 2015 at Riva del Garda (TN), in the suggestive location of the Hotel Lido Palace, in collaboration with the Autonomous Province of Trento, VIST officially announced its sponsorship of the Russian ski team, to the most important Russian and Italian national sports mastheads.

The presentation which was held only a few days from the beginning of the World Cup season, was an occasion to meet the press and some selected clients and illustrate all the aspects of the partnership, with a preview of the new technical apparel for the Russian team designed by VIST.
Various speakers took the stage; firstly Leonid Melnikov, President of the Russian Federation, followed by Urban Planinshek, head coach of the team, Alexandr Khoroshilov, star slalom racer of the Russian National team with his third place in the specialty classification achieved in the past season, Elmar Stimpfl, founder of the VIST brand and last but not least Michele Dallapiccola, Director of Regional tourism and promotion for the Autonomous Region of Trento, who expressed his pleasure in welcoming for the second year running the Russian athletes at Riva del Garda for their dryland training.

Melnikov declared, “We are really pleased to begin a partnership with a renowned and well-respected brand such as VIST and we are sure that our collaboration will bring positive results for both parties. We hope that the VIST technical apparel will bring good luck to our athletes during the next season and that it may then contribute to the success of the VIST brand within the alpine ski field.”

Elmar Stimpfl then concluded, “VIST decided to sponsor the Russian national ski team for many reasons. The first lies in the competitive DNA of the company which believes in the importance of the World Cup as a showcase for its brand. Russian Alpine Ski and Snowboard Federation (RASSF)
The Russian Alpine Ski and Snowboard Federation is a Russian public organization founded in 1991 which successfully operates in 42 regions of Russia. Over the years, the RASFF has enlisted many professional athletes, like Svetlana Gladysheva, Varvara Zelenskaya and Alexander Khoroshilov. Today, there are 45 athletes in the Russian National Ski Team (including the main and reserve teams). The RASSF aims to develop and popularise alpine skiing in the Russian Federation, promote a healthy active lifestyle, set up the most qualified training process for the national team and achieve the highest results in world skiing. From May 2014, the President of the RASSF is Leonid Melnikov.
