. world ski news : Triples & Quadruples: The Highest Level at the Stubai Prime Park Sessions - 12 November 2015 - 16:57

Since October 24 the absolute highlight of the preseason has been going off on the Stubai Glacier: The Stubai Prime Park Sessions. Enjoying perfect weather and snow conditions so far, the world’s elite freeskiers and snowboarders will continue to hone their skills for the coming season until November 21, pushing themselves to new levels. Triples are on the daily plan, and quadruples have already been thrown as well.

For the past two weeks the “Who’s Who” of the snowboard and freeski scene have laid waste to the Stubai Zoo park as well as the custom-built Prime Line at the Stubai Prime Park Sessions. The two Prime kickers with 22 and 25 meters offer optimal training possibilities for the crowd of pros, giving them the possibility to prepare for the coming contest season. The atmosphere on the mountain is awesome and the contingent of international riders, as well as their level, is simply hard to beat.

In particular world-elite riders from Scandinavia have made the journey to Stubai, including shredders like Alek Østreng, Peetu Piiroinen and one of the best snowboard women worldwide, Silje Norendal. The entire USA team is also present, whose crew including Eric Willet and Chas Guldemond have been unpacking new tricks while having a hell of a time riding the Stubai Glacier. Eric Willet could be overheard saying that he finds the park phenomenal and that it’s the best pro park he’s ever ridden in the fall. These vibes were felt by other riders as well: the bar for the snowboarders was raised a notch in the second week of the Stubai Prime Park Sessions when 16-year-old Norwegian Marcus Kleveland landed a massive backside quad cork 1800 on the 25-meter Prime Line kicker.

The great vibes and world-class trick level were evident among the freeskiers as well. The Norwegian Øystein Bråten jumped right out the gate with his triple cork 1440. But the USA team with superstars like Bobby Brown, McRae Williams and Tom Wallisch also showed top-notch tricks, while calling out the Stubai Zoo as one of the best parks worldwide. “Thanks for the unbelievably good time here on the Stubai Glacier with the US Freeskiing Team,” said Bobby Brown. McRae Williams also had very good things to say: “Being here is an absolute dream.” The good weather as well as the relaxed atmosphere lured numerous spectators to the Prime Park to watch the freeski and snowboard world elite live during training and gape at massive tricks. Things won’t cool down for the next two weeks, with new riders like Ståle Sandbech and Jesper Tjäder on the docket.

“Open House” on 21 November 2015
One day after the Stubai Prime Park Sessions conclude, we invite all guests of the Stubai Glacier a special treat, because during the Demo Day we’ll offer you the chance to be a part of a one-of-a-kind event. On this day the best skiers and snowboarders will duke it out in a contest for a ˆ4000 prize to be given away to a charity organization of their choice! As an absolute highlight, we’re building a two-level snow stage right next to the Prime kicker to give you a close-up view of the action, right from the table of the kicker. Additionally, the Schneestern park crew will completely rebuild the second Prime kicker into a new, creative feature just for this event. Pros like Jake Blauvelt, Sage Kotsenburg, Anna Gasser, Lisa Zimmermann, Seppe Smits, Roope Tonteri, Fabian Bösch and Elias Ambühl are already on the start list.

So what are you waiting for? Mark the 21st of November in red on your calendar!
