The 2007/2008 NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup continued last weekend in La Molina (SPA), the host of the FIS Snowboard World Championships in 2010 with two parallel races which debuted as a World Cup host this season.

On Saturday, in the third parallel giant slalom of the season, Nicolien Sauerbreij (NED) prevented a three-fold victory of the strong Austrian ladies' team.

In the big final, the Dutch rider relegated Claudia Riegler to the second rank. In the battle for third, Marion Kreiner crossed the finish line ahead of Doresia Krings.

On the men's side, it was an all-Austrian big final. 27-year-old Andreas Prommegger celebrated his first ever victory in his long World Cup career as he beat teammate Anton Unterkofler, who celebrated his career-best result. Tyler Jewell (USA) rounded out the podium in another personal top finish.

In the season's last parallel slalom on Sunday, Heidi Neururer (AUT) and Rok Flander (SLO) collected the honors. Neururer beat Saturday's winner Sauerbreij in the ladies final, thereby taking the lead both in the overall and parallel World Cups from the Dutch. In the battle for third, Claudia Riegler (AUT) crossed the finish line ahead of Ilona Ruotsalainen (FIN).

In the men's race, Rok Flander, the  Slovenian 2007 PGS World Champion, relegated yet another strong Austrian Benjamin Karl to the second spot.

Saturday's winner Prommegger completed the podium. The leader's jersey will continue to be worn by France's Mathieu Bozzetto despite him finishing 31st and 14th in Spain.

The NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup in parallel events will continue in mid-February in Sungwoo (KOR).
