Bulgaria officially received the privilege to host a round of the FIS Alpine World Cup for ladies for the next racing season 2008/2009. The decision was taken on an official meeting of FIS in Cape Town in South Africa.
Bansko will welcome the best alpine racers on 28-th February (downhill) and 1-st March 2009 (Super-G). Bansko received an excellent assessment for the rounds of the European Cup, which were held in the resort last season.
This is a historic decision for the Bulgarian ski sport, as the country will host round of the World Cup for women for the first time.
The Bulgarian official delegation in Cape Town is lead by the head of the Bulgarian Ski Federation Mr. Tseko Minev.
