Bulgarian Alexandra Jekova placed 12-th
Xavier De Le Rue and won the first of two World Cup Snowboardcross event which took place at Bad Gastein, Austria. The 29-year-old from France dominated the final, beating Czech Michal Novotny, US Nate Holland and Germany's Schad. De le Rue, who won the gold medal at the FIS Snowboard Worlds' at Arosa in 2007, claimed his first win of the season and 11th overall, the first since September 2005.

Sandra Frei confirmed her outstanding form in the Ladies race. The Swiss boarder made a stunning back-to-back after her triumph on the home slope of Arosa. The 24-year-old from Flims edged out French Deborah Antonioz, US star Lindsey Jacobellis and Canada's Maelle Ricker.
