Vladimir Zografski from Bulgaria was on a surprising 3rd place, at the end he was only 7th
Michael Hayboeck is the Junior World Champion 2010. The 18-year-old overall leader of the Continental Cup won in Hinterzarten with two great jumps of 106.5 m and 110.5 m and a total of 282.5 points and follows in the footsteps of his teammate Lukas Mueller, who won last year in Strbske Pleso (SVK). Peter Prevc (278.5 points) from Slovenia finished second and Italian Diego Dellasega (266.0 points) surprisingly won the bronze medal. Bulgarian Vladimir Zografski placed 7th in the final.

"I was well prepared and felt good the whole day. The delay due to the problems with the inrun did not bother me - the length of the inrun was right and the preparation of the hill was very good. I'm very satisfied with the result", said the new World Champion. Of course also the silver-medalist was satisfied: "During the competition the conditions were not changing a lot, it was very fair. After my good second jump I was dreaming of the title for a little while."

Dellasega: Surprise of the day
The surprise of the day was bronze-medalist Diego Dellasega. "My coach told me this morning that I should just jump - that's what I did. Now I'm very happy about the third place", said the 19-year-old, who could recently raise some attention with winning a Continental Cup.
The German team could not win a medal in front of the home crowd. Tobias Bogner (260.0 points) was fourth, favorite Pascal Bodmer was only 20th. "But I'm very satisfied with my performance. I showed two very good jumps today, but three others were better - I accept that and that's why I'm not unhappy with my result", said Bogner.
Zografski had "hand on Bronze"
After the first round Vladimir Zografski from Bulgaria was on a surprising third place, at the end he was only seventh. The competition was on a high level, the athletes had to deal with changing winds and snowfall.
For Ville Larinto the competition was a disappointment. The Finn, who was on the podium in a World Cup three times last season, showed good jumps in training and trial round but finished only eighth in the competition.
Not a day for favorites
Pavel Karelin, who had hopes for a medal after great jumps, shared a similar fate. The 18-year-old Russian then was ninth in the competition. Other athletes with some experience in the World Cup are Sami Niemi from Finland as 14th, Norwegian Anders Fannemel as 11th, Krzysztof Mietus (POL) as 24th and Mario Innauer (AUT) as tenth.
In the team competition on Saturday (3:45 pm CET Live via the Berkutschi Ticker) Hayboeck can defend last year's title with his teammates and return back home with two World Championship titles.

Hayboeck with longest jump
Michael Hayboeck from Austria showed the longest jump in the last training before the fight is on for Gold, Silver and Bronze at the Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten. The overall leader of the Continental Cup jumped on 107.5 m at the "Adlerschanze". Only Slovenian Peter Prevc (106 m) and Ville Larinto from Finland (105.5 m) could get close.
Germany's Pascal Bodmer had the most consistent jumps on Wednesday with 104 m and 103.5 m - he is the top favorite for Gold. Also Pavel Karelin has a good chance to win a medal at this event with a high-caliber field. The Russian showed good jumps of 102 m and 104 m.
Like already yesterday, Bulgarian Vladimir Zografski showed a surprising performance and was in the Top 10 again. Also Anders Fannemel ranked in the Top 10 and is the Norwegian hope for a medal. US American Peter Frenette, a member of the Olympic team, surprised with a 100 m jump.
Polish lower their sights
Lukas Mueller, defending Champion from Austria, was only 18th and, like yesterday, could not show a convincing performance. Also Krzysztof Mietus, hotly tipped before the Championships, has to set his sights lower. His brother Grzegorz was the best of the Polish team as 13th.
The Austrians were the strongest team. Besides Bodmer, the performances of the Germans were disappointing. Second best was Tobias Bogner as 18th.
