SJ COC-M: Fettner wins, second event cancelled

The team with Didrik Toenset, Paal Golberg, Thomas Northug and Finn Haagen Krogh claimed victory ahead of the Russian team (Gleb Retivykh, Evgeniy Belov, Alexey Vitsenko and Petr Sedov). On third place finished the home nation Germany (Thomas Wick, Lucas Boegl, Hannes Dotzler and Thomas Bing).

Finn Haagen Krogh, the last racer of the Norwegian team, made a great race and took the victory home for the Norwegian team.

The Norwegian ladies team with Kari Oeyre Slind (the sister of yesterday's winner at the U23 Pursuit), Heidi Weng, Tuva Toftdahl and Invild Flugstad Oestberg won the race 0,5 seconds ahead of the team from Finland (Maria Gundvall, Marjaana Pitkaenen, Tanja Kauppinen, Krista Lahteenmaki) and 5,7 seconds ahead of team Sweden (Maria Nordstroem, Lisa Larsen, Madelein Thorn and Hanna Brodin).

In the last lap Krista Lahteemaki attacked on the last uphill Invild Flugstad Oestberg but the Norwegian Junior World Champion contered perfectly.

WJC: Austria wins Gold ahead of Germany

Michael Hayboeck is double World Champion. After his triumph in the individual competition at the Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten he also won with the team. Under heavy snowfall and after a couple of interruptions the Austrian team, Hayboeck, Mario Innauer, Lukas Mueller, Florian Schabereiter, won clearly with 1030.5 points.

Silver, and with that the long-awaited medal, went to Germany. Felix Schoft, Pascal Bodmer, Tobias Bogner and Stephan Leyhe reached a total of 1010.5 points. The third place went to Slovenia with Matic Kramarsic, Peter Prevc, Dejan Judez and Jaka Hvala (1006.5 points).

Finland, Norway, Poland without a medal

Finland and Norway could not win a medal at these Junior World Championships. With Sami Niemi and Ville Larinto, who already have some experience in the World Cup, Finland finished fourth (950.5 points). Norway had a really bad day, landed only on place eleven and clearly missed the final of the best eight teams.

Also the Polish team has to leave the Black Forest without a medal. This was a disappointment for the young, ambitious team from eastern Europe. But on the other hand it was shown that Italy is catching up. Lead by Diego Dellasego, who jumped very good again, Italy finished on a good seventh place, behind Poland and Japan.
