OLYMPICS, CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING. Marit Bjoergen for Norway won in a great style Gold Medal in Sprint Classic. She deleted rest of the field and won a big margin. Silver goes to Poland for Justyna Kowalczyk and Petra Majdic won Bronze. Majdic had a bad fell in the training, just before the qualification and had to see a doctor. With big pain she started into the qualification, finished 19th and made it through all heats where she spend all the left energy to take the first Cross-Country medal ever for Slovenia.

For Bjoergen, it was her first gold medal ever at the Olympics, With this she completed her collection of the silver medal from Torino and the bronze medal from the individual start two days ago here at the Whistler Olympic Park. "It feels so great, I was strong today, my shpae was good and my ski's as well. In the final I wnated to be first. It's been very good day and I satisfied that I was able to complete my medal series," commented Marit Bjoegen on her race.

Justyna Kowalczyk took her second Olympic medal today, after winning bronze in Torino 2006: "I'm very satisfied as noramlly I am not a sprinter. Silver on this track and in this conditions is a big surprise for me."

Majdic, who made an incredible race today, commented after the race on her competition: "This is not a bronze for me, this is a gold medal with little diamonds on it. I won already a medal for going to the start. The whish  was so big because I 've been fighting for this for 22 years now. My crash was so spetacular. It hurts very badly.

Petra Majdic will now recover and maybe not be at the start for Pursuit: "I think it is impossible for me in two days. The 30km is the only chance for me."
