Austrian victory in Men’s PGS

Thomas Lienbacher wins the Men’s Parallel Giant Slalom in Seefeld with a big lead.

With a lead of 1.62 seconds on Zan Kosir from Slovenia, his opponent in the final race, Thomas Lienbacher won the gold medal for the Austrian team.

Supported by numerous local fans Lienbacher was already considered the clear favorite in the Men’s PGS during the first qualification rounds.

By coming in first out of the 54 participants, he was able to prove that fact already after the first rounds.

Third place went to Bojan Grebencharski from Bulgaria ahead of the Pole Lukasz Holy, who was behind by 3.00 seconds.

Women’s PGS gold medal goes to France

Florine Valdenaire, from France, wins the Women’s Parallel Giant Slalom in Seefeld. Silver goes to Austria!

Valdenaire won both final runs with a considerable lead of 2.22 seconds. Romy Pletzer, the only Austrian who reached the finals, deserved her second place.

The race for third place was won by the Italian Corinna Boccacini, who arrived with a lead of 2.04 seconds.

Fourth place went to Marieke Sauerbreij, the only participant for the Netherlands.

From Bulgarian team solely Teodora Pencheva went into finals, but she took only 15-th place.
