From yesterday, October 3th, the Bulgarian snowboard-cross star Alexandra Jekova joined the shreders at Hintertux for some pre-race season training. Special info from Alex coming soon at SKI.BG !
NEW! Rookiepark Hintertux
Experienced shredders and those wanting to improve their skills can do so at the new Rookie Park from December 2011 onwards.
Until now, it was long faces all round on the boarding and freestyle scene when the Betterpark Hintertux went into hibernation at the beginning of December after an extensive autumn season. But cheer up sweeties! Long faces are now a thing of the past, because from the beginning of December the new Rookie Park Hintertux at Summerberg will be available to all you freestyle beginners and old dogs out there. A welcome extension to the freestyle winter, which now offers air time Park fun at the Hintertux Glacier almost all year round; closing only for a short period in August.

In comparison to the Betterpark Hintertux at Olperer which offers the world’s freestyle elite optimum training conditions from April through to December, the Rookie Park is dedicated to newcomers on the freestyle scene. The Park is geared up to enable every man, woman or complete greenhorn to make a brilliant entry into the freestyle arena. As quick as you like, one or the other will get to know the addictive potential of airtime.
The 3-4 lines with a total of 18 jumps are shaped daily. We at the Park Team have Betterpark Hintertux park builder Wille Kaufmann (Fa. Betterparks) on board. His parks are known just as much for their high standards of quality as they are for their fun factor, fitting perfectly into our concept.
Convenient lift access is provided by the 4 seater Tuxerjoch with bubble canopy where you can watch the park folk from above, or check out air dog antics at the kicker.

Hotzone.tv Park Opening Hintertux - Day 1

The seventh edition of the Hotzone.tv Park Opening Hintertux kicked off earlier than ever and it is already in full gas! Betterpark shapers were sweating like pigs since Monday, there was shoveling, rail building, box adjusting and fine tuning of the pro, medium and easy line allover the park. And they made it happen! Respect!!!
Like each year, at the second station, there is Test Area with brands like Bataleon, Burton, Capita, DC, Gloryfy, K2 Snowboarding, Lib tech, Oakley, Ride Snowboards, Yes and others. And you can test all what they are hiding behind their tents. So if you are still not decided what to buy for upcoming season, this is another reason why you need to be tomorrow up here!
Marko Grilc, Werni Stock with the rest of Zillertal gang and others were throwing trick by trick on two huge tables with 17m of flat. Right from these two kickers is Funpipe. Yes, that’s right no more Super Pipe. But do not worry, tomorrow they will put some rails on coping! Right from Funpipe you can find medium and easy kicker line in perfect shape. And jib line is even bigger than last year! Rails, boxes and pipes. What ever you want...
DO NOT forget to come tomorrow up on the mountain, cause tomorrow is the The Day. Session of the Dudes (offering a total of ˆ 1500.— prize money for the best dudes), The Gloryfy Original Bag Jump, K2 - POP THIS! – highest Ollie Tournament and the SILBÆRG Skateboard Slalom will be searching for the fastest riders on old slalom decks.
And tomorrow’s big Opening Night is presented by Australian board and lifestyle brand Rhythm and will go down in the Hohenhaus Tenne in Hintertux. Next to finest tunes by the Wax Wreckaz DJ Kollektiv (Innsbruck) and the DJ duo Smith und Smart (Berlin) you can also look forward to the world premier of the latest snowboard movie by Argon Films, Euphoria.

Second day of the seventh Hotzone.tv Park Opening was just awesome! Bluebird sky, perfect park, lots of people, sick side events… Nothing didn’t come in the way of a perfect start of the shred season.
Hotzone.tv Session of the Dudes or we could say battle for 1500ˆ and fame was first on schedule. Marko Grilc, Seppe Smits, Wolle Nyvelt, Werni Stock and others were really hungry for the fame and of course the prize money. They were throwing down tricks like there is no tomorrow.
Not to forget about Test Area. Today this place was full of people crawling for 2010/2011 collection. Brands who matters were present. DC, Artec, Bataleon, K2 Snowboarding, Burton, Gnu, Liptech, Nitro, Oakley, Arnette, Völkl Snowboards, Yes and others were offering all their best products to test it. If you wonder what kind of gear fits you, come up tomorrow and try it out!
In the afternoon the action moved to the valley. The Gloryfy Original Bag Jump Bomb Drop Session, K2 - POP THIS! – highest Ollie Tournament were on a schedule. Some were throwing doubles, triples on the Bag Jump and others were jumping into an air.
And after all this action, the only right thing to do…is, to go on a Rhythm Opening Night in Hintertux at Hohenhaus Tenne with Wax Wreckaz DJ Collective and DJ dou Smith und Smart. And not to forget about the world premiere of the new EUPHORIA movie from Argon Films, which will be screened in and outdoors as well! So, if you are reading this crap right now, turn of your computer and start engine and of to Hintertux, where Rhythm Opening Night will tear you apart!

A perfectly shaped Betterpark, long runs down to the Fernerhaus, more than 20 brands offering free test gear, a special obstacle right in front of the Fernerhaus and Wolle Nyvelt givin tips to kids how to become a true ripper…those were the highlight of the last day at Hotzone.tv Park Opening Hintertux.
Saturday ended with overcrowded Rhythm Opening Night Party in Hintertux at Hohenhaus Tenne. Loud music, tons of liquid and nice laides took care for great vibe and that all snow junkies rapidly forgot that hangover can appear next morning.
Sunday was full of talented kids under 16. Billabong Kids Shoot invited Zillertaler shred legend Wolle Nyvelt to coach kids to ensure money shots for their portfolio. Pleasure senior photographer Markus Fisher took care that the offsprings were shot like the big guns.
And for closure of the Hotzone.tv Park Opening Hintertux there was a good opotunity to get somemoney at the Cash for Trix session at the special obstacle in front of the Fernerhaus on Sunday. Down Rail with donkey tail got some good hits and money was flyin around.
The Test Area was packed as previous days. 2010/2011 collection is already on shelves and I guess people need to test stuff before they will buy it. Brands like DC, Artec, Bataleon, K2 Snowboarding, Burton, Forum, Gnu, Libtech, Nitro, Oakley, Union, Völkl Snowboards, Yes and many others were boasting with their new collection.
