. world ski news : An awesome weekend was had by all at Relentless Energy Drink Freeze 2011 - 03 November 2011 - 16:10

FREESTYLE. The Brits showed us what they’re made of in Friday’s Battle of Britain competitions, with James Woods winning in ski, followed by Andy Matthew in second and James Machon in third. While Billy Morgan took the snowboard title, with Dom Harrington following in second and Lewis Courtier Jones in third.

Friday also saw 32 international riders take part in the Freestyle Ski Big Air comp pulling off some amazing tricks with the first place prize going to New Zealand’s Jossi Wells, second place to Sweden’s Oscar Scherlin and PK Hunder and Ole Mustad from Norway taking third and fourth places respectively.

An epic first day of skiing and snowboarding was finished off by Groove Armada’s Red Light audio/visual spectacular, while earlier in the day Zane Lowe and Rizzle Kicks got the crowd bouncing, and rock was brought to Freeze by Pulled Apart by Horses and Slaves to Gravity’s last ever gig together on The Energy Sessions stage sponsored by Relentless Energy Drink.

Snowboarding action kicked off on Saturday with the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup which saw Finland’s Janne Korpi take the top spot, who faught off tough competition from Belgium’s Seppe Smits who came second, and Joris Ouwerkerk from the Netherlands who came third.

Skiers and snowboarders joined forces for the Europe vs The World battle with Europe coming out on top in the final competition of the weekend, and the Relentless Energy Drink Ninjas hit the slope for some fast paced action to showing the crowd exactly what they’re made of!

Duke, True Ingredients and some awesome DJs kept the Desperados Dome pumping throughout, while Saturday’s Energy Sessions Stage was packed out thanks to Modestep and Dirtyphonics. The raving continued over in the Coors Light Après Bar and TUACA kept everyone warm with their après drinks while everyone waited for the main event of the night – The Streets last ever London performance. Skinner and the crew didn’t disappoint, blasting through classics like Let’s Push Things Forward and Fit But You Know It. Safe to say that they’ll be missed!

We’d like to thank everyone involved in making 2011 the best Freeze to date and most importantly all of YOU for coming along and having such a great time! So now that you’re in the mood and you’ve got all of the latest gear from our retail village, enjoy the season ahead and we’ll see you next year at Freeze 2012 for more world class riding and music!
