Академията на световните ски награди удостои в събота вечер Банско с приза за най-добър зимен курорт в България за 2013 г. Отличието беше връчено на директорите на концесионера на ски зоната „Юлен” г-жа Мая Христоскова и г-н Иван Обрейков от легендите в алпийските ски Михаел Валхофер и Щефан Еберхартер. Това стана по време на пищна церемония в меката на световните ски Кицбюел, където участваха 200 топ мениджъри от най-добрите курорти и хотели в света.

В анкетата организирана от Академията са гласували над 1 млн. души от цял свят. Благодарение на Банско страната ни също получи световно признание, като попадна в топ 20 на страните от целия свят с най-добър зимен туризъм. Наред с Банско за това отличие бяха номинирани още ски курортите Боровец, Пампорово и Витоша.

През годините водещият ни курорт се утвърди като №1 в източна Европа. Банско организира по перфектен начин 8 старта за Световната купа, а през 2011-а бе избран за Зимна столица на Балканите.

Призът за водещ ски хотел в страната ни в Кицбюел получи „Кемпински Гранд Арена Банско”. Отличието получи лично генералният мениджър на хотела г-н Атанасиос Манос.

В хотела по традиция отсядат най-известните скиори от цял свят, сред които Алберто Томба и Марк Жирардели. От 22 до 30 ноември ресторант „Коме Прима” на 5-звездния хотел ще предлага на гостите си уникалното за страната ни меню с бели трюфели доставени от италианския регион Пиамонте.

„Вила Гела” получи в Кицбюел наградите на академията за най-добър бутиков хотел и за най-добро шале (малък семеен хотел или хижа) в България. Наградите получи Александър Бъчваров, представител на фамилията чиято собственост е Вила Гела.

2013 World Ski Awards winners revealed in Kitzbuehel

World Ski Awards has recognised the very best in the global ski tourism industry during its inaugural Gala Ceremony at A-ROSA Kitzbühel this evening.

The event, attended by 200 handpicked guests, saw the title of World’s Best Ski Resort go to Val Thorens (France), while Bighorn, Revelstoke (Canada) took World’s Best Ski Chalet, Aurelio Lech (Austria) won World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel and World’s Best Ski Hotel went to The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch (USA).

In a special presentation at the end of the evening, the WSA Academy presented a unique trophy for Outstanding Services to Ski Tourism to Dr Josef Burger, chief executive of the Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel.

Taking place over the weekend of November 15th-17th in Austria’s legendary winter sports destination, guests are taking part in a three day programme of unrivalled networking events, dinners, and exclusive ski experience activities.

Ski tourism figureheads and market leaders from North America, Europe Asia, South America and Australasia were in attendance as the World Ski Awards winners were unveiled this evening.

World Ski Awards is the sister organisation of World Travel Awards, which is heralded as “the Oscars of the travel industry”.

About World Ski Awards
Launched in 2012, World Ski Awards aims to drive up standards within the ski industry by rewarding the organisations that are leaders in their field.
Votes were cast by professionals working within the ski industry – senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, agents and media - and by the public (ski tourism consumers). Votes were submitted online on the World Ski Awards website.
Winners are announced at the annual World Ski Awards Gala Ceremony.
World Ski Awards is the sister organisation of World Travel Awards, currently celebrating its 20th anniversary as "the Oscars of the travel industry".
