CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy (AP) _ Austrian Renate Goetschl won a World Cup downhill race Saturday for her second victory in two days. Goetschl followed form from her super-G win Friday and sped down the slightly longer downhill layout in one minute, 30.74 seconds. The two wins are her first since severely injuring her knee in March.

Kirsten Clark's second-place finish, 0.29 seconds behind, was the best result for the U.S. women's team since Caroline Lalive's runner-up finish in a downhill at Altenmarkt in March.

The podium finish vaulted Clark into a tie with France's Carole Montillet atop the downhill standings. Montillet came in fourth, 0.44 seconds behind.

Another Austrian, Michaela Dorfmeister, placed third 0.33 seconds back.

Croatian Janica Kostelic finished eighth and maintained a large lead atop the overall standings. Clark, who won a downhill at Lenzerheide two years ago, was joined in the top 10 by compatriot Jonna Mendes, who posted her best-ever result in fifth place.
