УНИВЕРСИАДА, ТРЕНТИНО ИТАЛИЯ, СКИ БЯГАНЕ. В седмия ден на 26-та Зимна Универсиада 2013 в Трентино, Италия българският ски бегач Веселин Цинзов зае 6-то място в дисциплината 10 километра свободен стил индивидуално. С доброто си представяне нашият студент предизвика голям интерес и на няколко пъти на трасето край Лаго ди Тезеро (Вал ди Фиеме) се чуха неговото име и това на България.

Трабва да се отбележи, че с много добро разпределяне на силите си Веско Цинзов постепенно подобри позицията си в класирането, като на първата междинна контрола на 2,5-тия километър той даде 16-то време, но след това взе да наваксва това изоставане и да изпреварва конкурентите си. Така на 5-тия километър той даде 10-то равно време с един от представителите на Казахстан, на 7,5-тия колометър вече беше 7-ми, преди в крайна сметка да пресече финала с отличното шесто време от 24:33.1 мин, изоставайки на +35.7 сек. от победителя Миланко Петрович от Сърбия. Интересно е да се спомене, че това е втора победа за мулти-спорт атлета от нашата съседска славянска държава. Преди да участва в ски бягането, 25-годишният скиор от сръбския Университет на Крагуйевац вече спечели два медала в състезанията по биатлон на Зимната Универсиада 2013 в Трентино - бронз на 20км индивидуално и златен медал в спринта.

При жените в 5-километровото трасе Антония Григорова-Бургова зае много доброто 15-то място с разлика +22.7 сек., а Васка Благоева завърши 89-та (+3:35.9 мин). Голямата изненада при дамите поднесоха украйнката Катерина Григоренко и норвежката Астрид Ойре Слинд, които пресякоха финалната линия с абсолютно равно време от 13:27.1 мин, с което всяка от тях заслужи по един златен медал.

Веселин Цинзов шести в ски бягането на Универсиадата

Отлично представяне на зимната Универсиада 2013 в Трентино постигат до момента ски бегачите Веселин Цинзов и Антония Григорова-Бургова, съобщи Даниела Машова координатор на направление „Ски бягане” в БФСки.

На Универсиадата България е представена в ски бягането от Веселин Цинзов и Станимир Беломъжев, а при жените Антония Григорова-Бургова и Васка Благоева.

В първата дисциплина скиатлон 5/5 км (жени) Антония Григорова-Бургова постигна време 30.29.9 и зае 20-то място, а Васка Благоева остана на 69 място от 75 състезателки. В същата дисциплина при мъжете на 7.5/7.5 км участва само Веселин Цинзов. Той се класира на 8-мо място от 85 състезатели, като постигна време от 38:50.1, спечели 27.96 състезателни точки.

В спринта на 1.2км в класически стил участва другият ни представител Станимир Беломъжев, които се класира 39-ти от 95 състезатели.

Цинзов и Бургова участваха и в отборното състезание, като заеха 12-о място от 40 страни. Зад тях останаха страни като Финландия, Казахстан, Етония, Канада, Италия, Франция и двата отбора на Чехия. Навярно в бъдеще тази дисциплина ще се наложи в програмата на международната федерация.

В следващите състезателни дисциплини от програмата на 5 км (жени) и 10 км (мъже) свободен стил Антония Григорова-Бургова се класира 15-та, а Васка Благоева остана на 89-то място, от 95 жени.

При мъжете Веселин Цинзов показа изключителен резултат и се нареди на 6-то място. Той пробяга състезателната дистанция за време 24:33.1 и постигна 38.35 състезатели точки. Представянето на Веселин е изключително убедително и с резултатите си показва, че е състезател от световна класа.

Станимир Беломъжев остана на 36-то място от 115 състезатели. Неговото време е 25:27.5, с което той постигна 68.63 състезатели точки. От началото на състезателния сезон 2013-14 за Станимир е това е четвърто състезание под 100 ФИС точки, с което участието му за Сочи 2014 за момента се потвърждава. Условието е обаче да участва и в останалите стартове до 20 януари, когато ще станат ясни всички участници в Олимпиадата. 

До края на състезателната програма на Универсиадата нашите състезатели ще стартират в дисциплините 15км класически стил масов старт за жените на 20.12.2013 и 30км класически стил масов старт за мъже на 21.12.2013.

Individual Cross Country Skiing: Gold for Two

For the first time in the Winter Universiade Trentino 2013, the Women's Cross Country 5km Free Technique Individual race which took place in Lago di Tesoro assigned two gold medals on the same podium.

The joint winners are the Ukrainian Kateryna Grygorenko and the Norwegian Astrid Oeyre Slind, who arrived in the same time of 13:27.1. So it's double gold medal, and bronze to the other Ukrainian Maryna Antsybor, just two tenths of a second behind in a blink-of-an-eye finish.

In the Men's race, Serbia's Milanko Petrovic sealed gold after he finished the 10km in 23:57.4 with a 5.5 advantage on Belarus' Michail Semenov, 13.7s in front of Russia's Raul Shakirzianov.

Slind's gold is the first medal for Norway in this 26th Winter Universiade Trentino 2013. Here's the first impressions of the 25-year-old student of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim: “I'm super happy! The track was perfect. I pushed a lot in the first leap, but I managed to save a bit of energy for the final straight”.

This is second victory for Serbian multi-sport athlete Milanko Petrovic. Before taking part in the Cross Country competition, the 25-year-old skier had won two medals in Biathlon at the Winter Universiade Trentino 2013: the bronze medal in 20km Individual and the gold in Sprint. Thanks to him, Serbia is climbing up the medal count table of the 26th Winter Universiade Trentino 2013. “I am very satisfied because I've won both in Biathlon and in Cross Country –commented Petrovic, student of the University of Kragujevac - now it would be great to also take part in Sochi Olympic Games”.

A REAL RUSSIAN FESTIVAL IN XC SPRINT: KOVALEV AND USATOVA WON GOLD AT 26th WINTER UNIVERSIADE TRENTINO 2013

It was a real Russian Festival in the Cross Country's Sprint Finals at the 26th Winter Universiade Trentino 2013 in Lago di Tesero.

Russia took five of six medals in the two races (men and women), and only the Finn Heikki Korpela could secure a podium place for another nation than Russia with his 3rd place in the men's race. 24-year-old Maxim Kovalev took the gold medal in front of his team-mate Pavel Sliutanov. The Russians dominated the final with an accurate strategy that left no chance for victory to other athletes.

An even better job was accomplished by the Russian female athletes in the Ladies' Final: 25-year-old Oxana Usatova won the race after a nail-biting finish against her team-mate Olga Tsareva, beaten for just one hundredth of second. The heartbeater made the consultation of the photo finish necessary. The bronze medal went to Olga Repnitsyna who prevailed in the last meters the Finn Krista Niiranen, the only non-Russian athlete in the Final. After a brave race, she finished 5th.

Tomorrow, Sunday December 15th, the Cross Country program at the 26th Winter Universiade Trentino 2013 features the Mixed Team Sprint which starts at 15:30 (CET) in Lago di Tesero.

Winners said:
Oxana Usatova (RUS): “It's wonderful to see an all-Russian podium. We hoped to realize such a result and we grabbed all the medals though it was a difficult accomplishment”.

Maxim Kovalev (RUS): "I made a little mistake in the first part of the Final and I had to chase Korpela and Siulatov. At the end I broke away and now I'm very satisfied with my job".

Kazakhstan wins the first gold medal in cross country skiing

The Kazakh Tatyana Ossipova won the first gold medal in Cross Country Skiing at the Winter Universiade Trentino 2013. The first day of competition around Lago di Tesero (Val di Fiemme) saw the women’s Skiathlon 5 + 5km with 71 participating athletes.

Russia’s Repnitsyna started well and took early control. However, the Kazakhs led at the first checkpoint (2.5km), with Matrossova first, followed by Repnitsyna and Ossipova.

A Kazakh trio – Matrossova, Lanchakova and Ossipova – took the lead at the second checkpoint, but at km 5, for ski replacement, Grygorenko made an impressive comeback, taking the first place, with Matrossova and Repnitsyna behind, while Ossipova was left fourth.

Ossipova secured the first place at km 6.6 and maintained her position till the finish line, winning in front of Grygorenko (UKR) and Pitkaenen (FIN).

Russia in gold in Men's Skiathlon

East Europeans dominated the second cross-country competition. In the Men’s Skiathlon which started at 3.15pm, the Russian Raul Shakirzyanov climbed the highest step of the podium.

The silver medal is around the neck of the Kazhak Mark Starostin, who crossed the finishing line just a few tenths later. At the third place, another Russian athlete, Pavel Syulatov, who finished a few seconds after the Kazakh. At the bottom of the podium is Japan’s Lenting who performed incredibly.

The favourite of the day Skobelev of Russia finished at a disappointing sixth place. He was the defending champion, having taken gold at the previous Winter Universiade in Erzurum.

The action resumes on Friday 13th with Biathlon and Nordic Combined at Lago di Tesero and Predazzo.

First medals in cross-country skiing to Kazakhstan & Russia

The first cross-country competitions of the Winter Universiade Trentino 2013 were dominated by Kazakhstan and Russia, with the Kazakh Tatyana Ossipova and the Russian Raul Shakirzyanov taking gold in Skiathlon.

The first gold medal in Cross-Country Skiing was awarded to Kazakhstan’s Tatyana Ossipova. On the first day of competition in Lago di Tesero (Val di Fiemme) she won the women’s 5+5km, contested on a 2.5km rink (four loops in total). 71 participants took part in the race. Russia’s Repnitsyna took early control. However, the Kazakhs led at the end of the first loop (2.5km), with Matrossova first, followed byRepnitsyna and Ossipova.

A Kazakh trio – Matrossova, Lanchakova and Ossipova – took the lead in the second loop, but at the ski change at km 5, Grygorenko made an impressive come-back and took the first place, followed by Matrossova and Repnitsyna, and Ossipova in fourth. Ossipova took the lead at km 6.6 and maintained her position until the finish line, winning in front of Grygorenko (UKR) and Pitkaenen (FIN) who came back strong to take the bronze medal. “It was not an easy race and I hope that this first medal of mine at this Universiade will not be the last one” commented Ossipova.

Easter Europe dominated the second competition of cross-country of the day. The Men's Skiathlon started at 3:15pm, and the gold medal went to Russia’s Raul Shakirzyanov, who won after an impressive sprint at the end of what was an intense and thrilling race. “I felt ok. When I saw there was only the final straight line, I thought it was the right moment to sprint" he told, still breathless, "I had saved my last resources precisely for this final sprint ».

 Silver went to the Kazakh Mark Starostin, who reached the finish line only a few tenths of a second later. The podium was completed by another Russian Pavel Syulatov, who was right behind the Kazakh. Japan’s  Lenting missed out the podium despite a very promising race.

The great favourite, the Russian Skobelev, who won the Skiathlon gold medal in the previous edition of the Universiade in Erzurum, finished at a disappointing 6th position.
